Charming small bowl handmade using English Yew, tactile and full of character.
David Regester uses English hard woods such as ash, oak and yew because of the beauty of the grain and also because temperate hardwoods can be harvested without damaging the environment. All domestic items are finished with cooking oil and beeswax because they are non-toxic. They can be washed by hand, not in a machine, and their original colour may be restored by occasional applications of cooking oil.
He writes regularly for “Woodturning” magazine and has had five books published: “Woodturning: Step by Step”, “Turning Boxes and Spindles: Step by Step”, “Turning Bowls: Step by Step”, “Great Little Things To Make on a Small Lathe” and “Woodturning: an Individual Approach”.
