Lucy Gibson makes jewellery centred around the art of enamelling, an ancient technique offering huge potential to create layers of colour, depth and intrigue. She works with transparent, opalescent and opaque vitreous enamels and often places 24 carat foil between the layers of glass. She etches and engraves the surface of the metal which shows through the layers of the enamel, giving each piece grater depth. Lucy's work is very tactile and in her work she strives to create jewellery that feels already worn. Since moving to Devon, Lucy has found the shifting landscape of Dartmoor another source of inspiration.
Lucy uses eco-silver and fair trade gold in her work.
